WK 1; After Trial

[ Perhaps rather predictably, finding Akira is a matter of going where everyone else isn't. Joonghyuk will find him by the cave, crouched over his knees a ways away from the entrance, staring inside. His hood is drawn up over his head and his posture is tense in the silence. ]

[ Joonghyuk first calls out to him to make sure he doesn’t like… Spook him into punching him as a greeting. Niah also doesn’t sneak up. ]

[ Thank you for understanding him, Joonghyuk. He tilts his head to the side slightly, but continues to largely face the cave. Nagako peeks her head out from inside his hoodie to give a more proper greeting, if you can call it that. ]

[ Joonghyuk doesn't approach, but Niah does. The wolf daemon comes closer, though not too close, just to observe Akira a little. Maybe a small little sniff. ]

How are your hands?

They've been worse. [ This much is true, but of course that doesn't mean they're in great shape. He had his gloves on as always as he does now, but with the way he was going at it there's gonna be bruising and then some.

Nagako slithers out further, her tongue coming out to taste the air as Niah approaches. Akira doesn't seem to mind any or perhaps he doesn't notice. ]

... Try not to batter them more. You don't know if you might be the one to be sent to the ring tomorrow.

[ And he'd rather that people are prepared, tip-top shape. Even though he doesn't care for many people, he wants to see the will to live in each one. ]

Was Nine your friend?

I'm usually pretty careful with my hands. [ Noted and heard but perhaps worth mentioning either way. ]

I don't think I even spoke to him once. [ Which isn't too odd because he hasn't talked to a fair numbers of others here either yet. ]

I talked to Bertolt a few times after I found him in one of those holes the kids dug. Sparred with him too.

He’s very open to talking after trial.

[ A statement, not really saying Akira should see him. ]

I told him I'd see him later, so I will. [ He is just possibly trying to process his emotions in a method that isn't just punch. ]

I don't think they'd let him live even if he beats whoever they pick this time. The actual thing or person controlling this game, not the apologetic idiots who babysit us.

Either some people will try to find justice by killing Bertolt Hoover themselves or the entities in command will force someone.

[ … ]

Will you be all right?

[bloodread]

Right. [ A huff and he glances back briefly. ]

Do I really look that bad? I've been through a lot worse. It's not like I really trusted him, I was just pissed off. That asshole from last week was completely different.

[ Exactly why he's mad is the complicated part, but at least Akira can recognize some things. ]

[malewife]

... No, but you made a scene in trial. That is enough to ask how you are feeling.

[ Niah eventually lounges next to Akira, but doesn't do more than that. Wolf just lying here. ]

If it's something you need to navigate on your own, then that's also fine, but we both know it won't get easier from here on out.

I've been punching people in public since I was in primary school. [ There's kind of a smile on his face that Niah will be able to see. ]

...I've seen a lot of fucked up shit, even before I got involved with spirits. I just wish I knew who I should really be punching. [ That might be his biggest problem with all of this, not knowing who he should actually be angry at and he's not the type to hold in his emotions. ]

[ OKAY, AKIRA. WE CAN'T ALL BE KIDS WITH A HISTORY OF GETTING INTO FIGHTS AT LIKE 2. ]

I would say you should punch the entities that brought us here, but they are nowhere in sight.

[ Disappointing. ]

There's a chance you might see them yourself.

[ Not that Joonghyuk really wants anyone to be propositioned by a mysterious entity. ]

[ He actually smiles, barely. ]

... There are more people who are inclined to rebel than not.
