[ there is so much happening today. This will be after ALL OF THAT.
Dokja's posture is still a bit tense, because how does one even relax ever for a moment in your life, but it's just the three of them now. ]
The dining hall ended up being a lot more crowded than we thought so we couldn't really have talked there last night. [ Anyways... he'll gesture Akira to talk. ]
[ Well after all of that, it's time to discuss deets since everyone is accounted for in one or the other. Akira as usual is taking up residence on a wall, while Nagako in kangaroo form is hopping around, literally bouncing from Niah to Jin. ]
...a lot of shit happened but let's get this out of the way for tomorrow. [ He looks at Joonghyuk as he says this cause there is Concern here but business first. ]
I got a group letter from the dead this week, and one from Nanaly. Me and Nanaly talked before she was executed, and I told her how I thought Monika was the one who killed Ulrika. She said she could see it, but she was also suspicious of Susato after injury check during trial, but she didn't want to push it. Susato had an injury she was covering up with makeup, apparently.
We figured out a code, strawberries to refer to Ulrika, and I told her if she mentioned a different fruit I'd take it as that being wrong.
She sent me this letter. [ He will pass this around if either of them want to take a look. ] We didn't talk about raspberries so I thought the Monika guess was wrong, but I think raspberries actually refer to Susato. Nanaly was saying she felt weird about her, but that Susato was one of the people she trusted the most, which lines up with her saying raspberries were bad like she was afraid of. Maybe she picked raspberries cause we kept talking about Susato's bunny connections too, and raspberries and rabbits both start with ra?
[ He shrugs. ]
That would mean Monika killed Ulrika and Susato was responsible for another death.
If it was just this note, I'd think I might have gotten the fruit wrong but— the group letter the dead sent me was written by Ulrika. [ This one he is holding up so they can read but is not passing it around for Reasons. ]
Back at the ball, I tried to get Ulrika to tell me if Monika was her killer. I offered her a buncha cookies and told her to eat the vanilla ones for yes, and strawberry for no. ...she wound up eating the chocolate ones instead, but here she mentioned vanilla.
I think that's as much confirmation we're gonna get that Monika killed Ulrika, and if that's right, then Nanaly's theory on Susato being a killer is also true even if we don't know who she killed. And even if she thinks I shouldn't worry about it too much.
[ Jin seems to stay close to Niah, but with Nagako here she seems comfortable enough to finally branch out again. And by branch out, that means she's playfully chasing after Nagako as they hop around. ]
Makeup? [ That's news to him because of course he doesn't check in on ladies when they strip check but... nobody thought to mention that?? ] I see...
[ He'll read the note that's been handed to him, but the one Akira holds up he won't take. He understands. Once he's done reading does he lean back, hand on his chin with thought. ]
Admittedly, Susato's personality seems to have changed lately. She seemed much more... defensive at the trials, but I tried not to question it at the time. [ Monika, huh.. Looking at their current situation- ] Well, Susato is the only one to have gone missing this morning so we can't really do anything about that until tomorrow.
I'd rather face a seasoned fighter than a good liar.
[ So, yeah.
Nagako pauses in her bouncing around with Jin briefly, then carries on. ]
There's no point in bringing up the Susato stuff right now, especially after today. They want to find her, maybe they do and maybe they don't. If they are able to save her she's gonna get all their sympathy.
[ He rolls his neck back and forth. ]
I don't know if someone went after her cause they knew, or if it was just a coincidence. But it wasn't me, cause if I did, I would have made sure she was dead before I left.
...and I asked Rameel about that. Killers can't confess during trial and they're not supposed to talk before the murder either, but it's theoretically possible they could anyway.
Jin pauses when Nagako does, then carries on right after her. ]
It's a good enough theory if it's coming from a Watcher. Okumura Rin even said himself that he couldn't, right? [ Arms cross again, though this time he has some inquiries himself. ]
There's still the matter with Monika though. Even if it's brought to light, are people willing to vote for her over Susato's potential killer tomorrow?
Yeah, but someone might be able to say they were visited by an angel before Friday.
[ Sigh. ]
I'm not sure, and it's not like the dead were able to give me proof. We'll see how it goes I guess, and if I need to bring it up I will.
...there's something else. Don't ask me how I know, and I think you two know already, but the coin checks are useless. Besides the fact that we don't know what powers everyone has, there's not a rule against having two coins.
[ But would someone dare to mention they were visited by the angel if it meant they got punished personally by said angel? Hmmm. ]
One of the dead's perhaps? Though I haven't really tried asking for an extra coin from a Watcher. [ He already knew coin checks were kinda useless though- you could easily lie about the powers. ]
If someone's coin was stolen it'd probably get noticed pretty fast since they wouldn't be able to get in their room at some point. I'm not sure if the Watchers can make new ones though.
[ Which means...Nagako paws at Jin playfully, bouncing up and down in place. ]
Someone can lie about getting a power on Sunday for guessing correctly about the details, which lets them use it without drawing suspicion. Since at most people will look at the minimum total from what you get every Friday. [ So it is hard to really rely on them. ]
Given the Watchers' feelings towards what's happening here with the trials and executions, I don't think they'd offer something harmful.
w5, Friday post both cyoas returns. GOD.

Monika has told me that she wouldn't be able to live with herself if she had killed, but I never quite believed that.

What do you plan to do, Kijima Akira?

I believe Watchers may give you a power if you ask, but I’m not sure if they’d be useful for killing someone.

There's a wide spread of powers out there too, even if counting was reliable.
