WEEK 4, Thursday Night

[ After all that they're trapped as usual, though at least for Akira and yjh it's inside this week. Akira gives the barrier a half-hearted punch, then leans against the nearest wall.

The one week he doesn't try to get out is the week they'll actually be able to get out. ]

...this has been one hell of a week. [ Night even, but rather than call that out, Akira just looks at them both. ]

[ Joonghyuk's tail still swishes, annoyed. ]

Back to only one to three bodies a week.

Only one group returned today. Not that I'm too sure if anyone else was missing outside those four.

[ Dokja stands there, arms crossed, Jin on the other hand is pacing with her fur a little puffed out. At least Akira is here so that's one less worry?

Lips are tugged in a frown, his own tail hanging low with ears folded back. ]

... Barok van Zieks wasn't here to see Reze. Kaburagi Kotetsu seemed to be not present, either.

[ BUT COULD JUST BE... THEM NOT BEING ONLINE? I DON'T KNOW. Niah tilts his head, curious, too. ]

[ He's trying to think hard, regarding those that came up when the group returned. ]

..If there's one person I expected to be there definitely, it would have been Kim Kitsuragi-ssi. [ But he was also really distracted by Reze. Is it possible that the first two went on another adventure? It hasn't happened yet but... it could be possible, no?

Jin watches them both before slowly... moving over to Niah... and flopping against the other daemon. This is Fine. ]

That old geezer does get his hands over everything, huh? [ Akira was there sidelines like usual, because as long as there is a surplus of healers he's happy to stay away from all of that.

Nagako looks at Jin and Niah, then trots over, jumping into the pile. ]

[ there is so much happening today. This will be after ALL OF THAT.

Dokja's posture is still a bit tense, because how does one even relax ever for a moment in your life, but it's just the three of them now. ]

The dining hall ended up being a lot more crowded than we thought so we couldn't really have talked there last night. [ Anyways... he'll gesture Akira to talk. ]

I also wasn't expecting to be whisked away for two days.

[ But we're here? ]

[ Well after all of that, it's time to discuss deets since everyone is accounted for in one or the other. Akira as usual is taking up residence on a wall, while Nagako in kangaroo form is hopping around, literally bouncing from Niah to Jin. ]

...a lot of shit happened but let's get this out of the way for tomorrow. [ He looks at Joonghyuk as he says this cause there is Concern here but business first. ]

I got a group letter from the dead this week, and one from Nanaly. Me and Nanaly talked before she was executed, and I told her how I thought Monika was the one who killed Ulrika. She said she could see it, but she was also suspicious of Susato after injury check during trial, but she didn't want to push it. Susato had an injury she was covering up with makeup, apparently.

We figured out a code, strawberries to refer to Ulrika, and I told her if she mentioned a different fruit I'd take it as that being wrong.

She sent me this letter. [ He will pass this around if either of them want to take a look. ] We didn't talk about raspberries so I thought the Monika guess was wrong, but I think raspberries actually refer to Susato. Nanaly was saying she felt weird about her, but that Susato was one of the people she trusted the most, which lines up with her saying raspberries were bad like she was afraid of. Maybe she picked raspberries cause we kept talking about Susato's bunny connections too, and raspberries and rabbits both start with ra?

[ He shrugs. ]

That would mean Monika killed Ulrika and Susato was responsible for another death.

If it was just this note, I'd think I might have gotten the fruit wrong but— the group letter the dead sent me was written by Ulrika. [ This one he is holding up so they can read but is not passing it around for Reasons. ]

Back at the ball, I tried to get Ulrika to tell me if Monika was her killer. I offered her a buncha cookies and told her to eat the vanilla ones for yes, and strawberry for no. ...she wound up eating the chocolate ones instead, but here she mentioned vanilla.

I think that's as much confirmation we're gonna get that Monika killed Ulrika, and if that's right, then Nanaly's theory on Susato being a killer is also true even if we don't know who she killed. And even if she thinks I shouldn't worry about it too much.

[ Jin seems to stay close to Niah, but with Nagako here she seems comfortable enough to finally branch out again. And by branch out, that means she's playfully chasing after Nagako as they hop around. ]

Makeup? [ That's news to him because of course he doesn't check in on ladies when they strip check but... nobody thought to mention that?? ] I see...

[ He'll read the note that's been handed to him, but the one Akira holds up he won't take. He understands. Once he's done reading does he lean back, hand on his chin with thought. ]

Admittedly, Susato's personality seems to have changed lately. She seemed much more... defensive at the trials, but I tried not to question it at the time. [ Monika, huh.. Looking at their current situation- ] Well, Susato is the only one to have gone missing this morning so we can't really do anything about that until tomorrow.

Interesting that she would be involved twice in cases, though I suppose Rex Salazar's case could have easily been done by her.

Monika has told me that she wouldn't be able to live with herself if she had killed, but I never quite believed that.

[ He crosses his arms. ]

What do you plan to do, Kijima Akira?

[ So, yeah.

Nagako pauses in her bouncing around with Jin briefly, then carries on. ]

There's no point in bringing up the Susato stuff right now, especially after today. They want to find her, maybe they do and maybe they don't. If they are able to save her she's gonna get all their sympathy.

[ He rolls his neck back and forth. ]

I don't know if someone went after her cause they knew, or if it was just a coincidence. But it wasn't me, cause if I did, I would have made sure she was dead before I left.

...and I asked Rameel about that. Killers can't confess during trial and they're not supposed to talk before the murder either, but it's theoretically possible they could anyway.

[ Back by unpopular demand-- just kidding, but Dokja is here despite room assignments! Of course, that means when he comes back to the apartment every day it'll probably be with either Joonghyuk or Akira. Family escort.

Anyways, he's setting his things down and looks at the bed that's in the same area as the couch. Hmm. Strange studio place but Dokja really won't complain as someone that's used to just camping out in the wild. ]

I don't mind taking the floor. [ Yes. It is decided. ] Thanks for letting me stay over, Akira.

[ Just Akira cause Joonghyuk will have to suffer with Dokja either way. :/ ]

[ He shakes his head, not wanting the thanks. ]

You sure? [ Staring at the wall and ceilings and open layout plan, Akira actually looks almost happy. ]

Pretty close to home, but the ceilings are better. [ Read: taller. ]

I won't take the couch or bed from either of you, it's fine.

[ It's their room to begin with after all. Looking around, there seems to be extra pillows and blankets so he can set something up on the floor tonight. ]

Definitely more spacious than my apartment back home. [ feels salaryman on limited contract pay. ]
